After some early season struggles in the role, Ian Happ returns to the lead off spot tonight for the Cubs. Happ has been as hot as anyone on the team, showing extraordinary patience at the plate as of late. Kyle Schwarber bats second with Bryant and Rizzo behind them.

Tyler Chatwood is the first Cubs pitcher since Carlos Zambrano in 2007 to walk five or more batters in six different starts. Of course, Zambrano did it over the course of a whole season while Chatwood has done it before Memorial Day. The six starts of walking 5 or more are twice as many as any other pitcher in baseball this season.

He and Tumpane began arguing before Javy Baez got in between them to help settle Schwarber down. Joe Maddon then had his say with the umpire also. Schwarber had a questionable strike 1 call on him in the previous at-bat as well.

Cubs OF Ian Happ hit the franchise's 14,000th HR tonight. He was also the fastest to 20 homers (last season) in team history and has hit a home run from both sides of the plate in a game and now both ends of a doubleheader. Plus, he delivered the weather on the weather channel earlier this week. But it's those home runs he'll remember the most: “There have been some cool ones. For a storied organization, to have some of those with your name on them, that's special.”
