Panthers owner must keep statue of Richardson

New Panthers owner David Tepper says while he'll accept nothing less than an "open and safe" work environment, he's "contractually obligated" to keep a 13-foot-high statue of former owner and team founder Jerry Richardson outside of the team's stadium.

NFL fines Richardson for workplace misconduct

Outgoing Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, who has sold the team for $2.275 billion, has been fined $2.75 million by the NFL for workplace misconduct.

The projected preset salary for Panthers first-round draft pick D.J. Moore was around $11.3 million over four years with a $6.3 million signing bonus. The former Maryland wide receiver will have a salary cap figure of slightly more than $2 million.

The Panthers on Monday signed first-round draft choice wide receiver D.J. Moore. So they will go into training camp with all eight of their draft picks signed.

Johnson & Wales women's basketball coach Jennifer King on Thursday accepted a coaching internship with the Panthers for training camp. King already has served an internship for the Panthers rookie camp and this weeks mandatory mini camp. Her goal is to one day become the office of coordinator for an NFL or college team.

The Panthers set training camp dates for Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Camp will open on July 26 with the first practice scheduled for 6:30 p.m. It will break on August 13. There will be 13 total practices in Spartanburg with an August 3 FanFest set for Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis leaves the three-day minicamp with Kyleigh Dean, 13, of the Make-A-Wish program. Kyleigh, who was diagnosed at a young age with congenital generalized lipodystrophy (rare disease characterized by the near total loss of body fat), had thé wish of spending a practice with Davis.
