Redskins left tackle Trent Williams said Sunday is "still up in the air." He said he still can't grab with his dislocated right thumb. But he wants to get back even if it's fast; he said "sitting on the sidelines sucks." But he said he went today to test it for this week -not to get ready for Thanksgiving Day vs. Dallas.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said left tackle Trent Williams is questionable for Sunday's game vs. Houston. Gruden had said earlier in the week he wouldn't play. But doctors were encouraged by his progress. The key will be if he can play with a cast on his dislocated right thumb.

Norman to give out tickets to up Redskins' crowd

Redskins CB Josh Norman, who last week complained of the lack of a home-field advantage at FedEx Field, purchased 50 tickets for Sunday's game vs. the Texans, planning to hand them out to fans at various spots near the Redskins training facility.

Redskins quarterback Alex Smith said his recent success throwing to receiver Josh Doctson stems from a growing familiarity. Doctson has been targeted 15 times the last three games and caught 12 passes. In his first four games (he missed one), Doctson caught 11 passes on 22 targets. Some of those were throwaways in his direction, but, still he's been more productive. "He's a guy that obviously has incredible ball skills," Smith said. "He's a physical receiver and he's played that way for the last few weeks, really physical. He's a guy that often times when you do play X, you are getting pressed a lot and I think he's done a great job against that against different types of guys, playing physical, playing big and I think [he] made a bunch of big kind of traffic catches the last few weeks."

Receiver Jamison Crowder's MRI did not show more damage but the ankle is still not 100 percent. Jay Gruden said he thinks Crowder will be back soon but no one knows for sure when that will be.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said left tackle Trent Williams (knee) won't play Sunday vs. Houston and that there's a good chance running back Chris Thompson (ribs) also will miss. Neither player was able to practice today.

The Redskins intercepted quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick twice Sunday, which was not a surprise to anyone on the defense. They talked about it during the week. Linebacker Zach Brown said after the game, "We know Fitz was going to throw interceptions. He's a gun slinger. With gun slingers you throw interceptions."

It's not hard to tell that Jonathan Allen played at Alabama. After the Redskins' 16-3 win, he said "still not overly happy with our performance. We gave up [501] yards. If we're gonna get to where we want to go we can't do that. So got to give a lot of credit to Tampa Bay. They missed some opportunities that we gave them. We have to tighten up as a defense....As a defense we want to dominate and we didn't dominate today. Definitely glad we got the win, but a lot of things to clean up."

Norman: Redskins fans better on road than home

The Redskins had a lot working against them entering Sunday's game at Tampa Bay. But one thing in their favor, according to cornerback Josh Norman, was playing on the road -- and away from a stadium that no longer sells out.
