After Thursday's practice Broncos coach Vance Joseph said in addition to cornerback Chris Harris Jr. (lower leg), linebacker Shaquil Barrett (hip) and cornerback Isaac Yiadom (shoulder) have been ruled out for Saturday night's game against the Cleveland Browns. So, Bradley Roby and Tramaine Brock will be the starting cornerbacks in the base defense and Jamar Taylor will likely play as the No. 3 cornerback. However, safety Justin Simmons will be also asked to play in a nickel cornerback role at times.

After Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Broncos linebacker Von Miller called his three penalties for neutral zone infractions "flat out ridiculous'' and said "I put my team in a horrible situation.'' On Wednesday, Miller said he needed to keep being aggressive, however, and that chances are he's going to get more right than wrong when anticipating the snap. "Yeah, I was upset about it, but at the end of the day if I've got 97 sacks, probably 80 of them came off of getting a great jump, so it's like yeah, I jumped offsides, but quarterbacks throw interceptions, too, it's not like you tell them to quit throwing the ball downfield ... It's just part of the game ... I'm a gambling man, sometimes I like to gamble big and sometimes I don't ... I'm not going to change it up.'' Miller said he anticipates the Browns trying to draw him into an offside penalty or two Saturday night, but "we're playing at home, so I don't know how effective that will be.'' Overall, Miller has been flagged for seven penalties this season, six of those have either been offside or neutral zone infractions, including the three against the 49ers.

After Wednesday's practice Broncos coach Vance Joseph said defensive end Derek Wolfe (concussion) was still in the league protocol -- "but he's progressing very successfully'' as Wolfe did some on-field work with the team's strength and conditioning staff. And wide receiver Courtland Sutton (thigh) was limited in practice, but Joseph said "he looked pretty good today.''

For Broncos Wednesday linebacker Shaquil Barrett (hip) did some work off to the side with the Broncos' strength and conditioning staff, cornerback Isaac Yiadom (shoulder) was watching practice and defensive end Derek Wolfe (concussion) worked some with the strength and conditioning staff as well.

After Tuesday's practice Broncos coach Vance Joseph said defensive end Derek Wolfe is the concussion protocol and did not practice. Wolfe was on the practice field during the workout, but did not participate. Also, wide receiver Courtland Sutton did not practice because of a thigh injury he suffered in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the 49ers. Because the Broncos play Saturday night they had a walk-through practice Tuesday -- Joseph said the team will use an on-field schedule early in the week it would use for a Thursday night game.

Vance Joseph also said Monday cornerback Chris Harris Jr. "went for a scan'' on his injured leg Monday morning and was making progress -- Harris suffered a fractured fibula against the Bengals. "It's a broken leg, it's a healing process, it's more about that than his rehab, it just takes time. He a scan (Monday) morning and it's healing, but there is still a small break in his leg, the soreness is going away, but it just takes time.''

Another day, another injury at cornerback for the Broncos. Vance Joseph said Monday rookie cornerback Isaac Yiadom suffered a right shoulder separation in the loss to the 49ers. Yiadom played 57 of the defense's 72 snaps in the game and did return to the game briefly after he suffered the injury as he tried to play with a harness on the injured shoulder. Joseph said Yiadom is day-to-day, but conceded it would "be tough'' for Yiadom to be ready to play by Saturday night against the Browns. Joseph said he believed Tramaine Brock, who has missed the last two games with a rib injury, would be able to play Saturday against Cleveland.

George Kittle's 85-yard touchdown reception helps lift 49ers

George Kittle caught an 85-yard touchdown pass on the way to 210 yards receiving and became the 49ers' first tight end to reach the 1,000-yard milestone, leading San Francisco past the sluggish, injury-plagued Denver Broncos 20-14 on Sunday.

Certainly the Broncos have to win today against the 49ers for any of it to matter, but Denver didn't get much help in a playoff chase as the Dolphins moved to 7-6 with a win over the Patriots and the Colts moved to 7-6 with a win over the Texans. And the Ravens, who have the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Broncos are in overtime against the Chiefs

Broncos linebacker Von Miller on being the team's Walter Payton Man of the Year for his charitable endeavors, including Von's Vision: "I remember in 2011 with just the idea of starting something ... you fast forward to 2018 and see all the great stuff my team has been able to do with Von's Vision, it's really a true blessing. Never in a million years did I think it would be this big. I always dreamed of helping one or two kids, but to raise all the money we have and help over 6,300 kids has been a true blessing. I couldn't even imagine it being so dope, it's been an incredible journey to this point and still have a long way to go.'' Von also consistently mentions Tim Tebow, Peyton Manning, Wesley Woodyard and Champ Bailey as some of those who helped him learn what he wanted to do in the community.
